The German-French cellistElodie Théry began her Bachelor of Music with Laurentiu Sbarcea at the Cologne University of Music and Dance in 2011 and completed it with top marks. In the 2014/2015 season she is an intern at the WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne. She completed her Master of Performance with distinction in June 2017 at the Lucerne University of Music in Christian Poltéra's class. In 2017 and 2018 she is artist in residence at the “Festival for Young Artists Bayreuth”.

In 2019 she played A.Honegger's Cello Concerto as a soloist with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra in the KKL Lucerne and completed her Master of Solo Performance in 2020 with distinction. Other solo concerts such as those by C. Saint-Saëns, E.Elgar, J.Haydn etc. are also on her repertoire list.

She attended numerous master classes with, among others, Prof. Wolfgang Boettcher, Prof. Troels Svane, Prof. Francis Gouton, Alban Gerhardt, Gustav Rivinius.

Because of her great passion for chamber music, Théry is involved in numerous international chamber music projects. She founded several permanent formations with which she currently performs primarily in Switzerland. She also works as a newcomer to various orchestras and is a member of the City Light Symphony Orchestra in Lucerne. Théry also travels with her cello duo “Duo Chelo” to kindergartens in Switzerland to introduce classical music to the little ones.  

With great enthusiasm, impressive stage presence and extraordinary personality, Théry captivates the audience. Elodie Théry is a scholarship holder of the Hirschmann Foundation, the Zaczkowski Foundation and the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation.
